Managing Match Approval Processes
Overview
Qooper offers several matching configurations that control how mentors and mentees connect in a program. Admins can enable self-matching, set approval requirements, and control participant limits depending on the program’s goals.
Self-Match Option
Self-matching can be enabled for:
-
Mentors only
-
Mentees only
-
Both mentors and mentees
-
Peer Matching
Match Limits
Admins can also set match limits, including:
-
How many mentors a mentee can have
-
How many mentees a mentor can take on
Once a user reaches their limit, they will no longer appear in search results or request additional connections.
Match Approval
1. Admin Match Approval
Participants send match requests.
An admin must approve the match before it becomes active.
2. Mentor Match Approval
Mentees search for mentors and send requests.
The mentor approves or declines the request.
3. Mentee Match Approval
Mentors search for mentees and send requests.
The mentee approves or declines the request.
Prioritized Match Approval
Prioritized Match Approval allows an admin to decide which participant — the mentor or the mentee — reviews a suggested match first.
Key points from testing:
-
This option only appears when both Mentor and Mentee Match Approval are enabled.
-
Both participants must approve before the match is finalized.
Declining a Match
When a user declines a match request, they are not asked to provide a reason.
If a participant removes an active match, they may be asked to provide feedback depending on program settings.
