Managing Match Approval Processes
This article explains how Self-Match and Match Approval settings work, including the Prioritized Match Approval option.
Self-Match Option
Self-matching allows users to search and request their own matches.
You can enable self-match for:
-
Mentors only
-
Mentees only
-
Both mentors and mentees
Match Limits
You can also set participation limits:
-
How many mentors a mentee can have
-
How many mentees a mentor can take on
Once a user reaches their limit, they will no longer appear in search results.
Admin Tip: Use match limits to control capacity and maintain balanced participation across your program.
Match Approval Settings
There are three available approval workflows.
1. Admin Match Approval
-
Mentors or mentees can search and send match requests.
-
Only an admin can approve the match.
This option gives admins full control over all matches.
2. Mentor Match Approval
-
Mentees search for mentors and send requests.
-
The mentor can approve or decline the request.
-
Admins can view all requests in the dashboard and override decisions if needed.
This option gives mentors control over who they accept.
3. Mentee Match Approval
-
Mentors search for mentees and send requests.
-
The mentee can approve or decline the request.
-
Admins can view all requests in the dashboard and override decisions if needed.
This option gives mentees control over who they match with.
Prioritized Match Approval
Prioritized Match Approval allows an admin to suggest a match.
-
Both the mentor and mentee must approve the suggested match.
-
You can choose who is required to approve first:
-
Mentor first
-
Mentee first
-
This option is helpful when admins want to guide matching while still requiring agreement from both participants.
