How Profile Form Questions Work as Filters in Self-Matching

Overview

This feature allows users to filter mentor, mentee, or peer search results using profile form questions. It helps users find more relevant matches by narrowing results based on predefined profile attributes.

How It Works (User Side)

  1. Go to your user account
  2. Click on the Mentoring tab at the top
  3. Select Find Now (to search for mentors, mentees, or peers)
  4. You will see:
    • A search bar (for keywords like name, skill, or title 

      Keyword to search for connections).

    • A Filters button next to it
  6. Click on Filters Options
  7. A list of profile form questions will appear
  8. Select an answer to filter and refine your search results

Admin Requirement (Important)

This feature must be enabled from the admin side:

  • Go to Admin → Program Settings
  • Enable:
    Profile Filters in Self-Matching

Important Conditions:

  • Only Single Choice or Multiple Choice profile form questions will appear as filters
  • Other question types (e.g. short text) will NOT be shown in filters
  • Questions must be correctly configured in the profile form to be available for filtering

Admin Tip

Ensure profile form questions are structured properly (single or multiple choice) if they are intended to be used for filtering. Otherwise, users will not see them in the filter panel.
