How to connect Oracle (Database or Fusion Cloud) with Qooper?
Overview
Connecting Oracle to Qooper is as easy as 1-2-3: Once a database user is created and connection details are shared, your data begins syncing automatically. With accurate Oracle data flowing into Qooper, you’re ready to launch mentoring, learning, and development programs with the right people at the right time.
Benefits of Integrating with Qooper
- Automated Data Sync: User and organizational data stored in Oracle sync to Qooper on a Daily or Weekly schedule.
- Streamlined Onboarding: New users added in Oracle can be created in Qooper automatically, reducing manual entry and errors.
- Zero-touch Updates: When users change or are removed in Oracle, their Qooper profiles update automatically.
- Security and Compliance: The integration uses secure database authentication and encrypted connections to ensure your data is protected.
To start taking advantage of these benefits, the first step is to create a dedicated database user in Oracle.
(1) Create an Oracle Database User 👤
Before connecting to Qooper, you need a database user with the appropriate permissions.
Using a dedicated database user ensures:
- Integration access is controlled and auditable
- Production users are not impacted
- Access is limited to what the integration needs
(1a) Create Your Oracle Integration User
The Oracle database user must have:
- Read access (SELECT) to required tables
- Optional Write access (INSERT/UPDATE) if bi-directional sync is needed
At minimum, Qooper requires read access to tables containing:
- Employee / user records
- Employment details
- Job and organizational fields
Note: If you will use The Oracle Fusion Cloud, the user must have API access to Human Resources data.
(1b) Assign Permissions
Ensure the Oracle user has SELECT permission on the relevant schemas and tables.
Qooper requires access to:
- Worker / Employee tables
- Employment records
- Job titles and departments
- Status fields
For bi-directional sync (Qooper → Oracle), also grant:
- INSERT
- UPDATE
permissions on the same tables.
(2) Connect with Your Credentials 🔑
After creating your database user, provide the following Oracle connection details to Qooper via email:
- Database host
- Database port
- Database name
- Username
- Password
For Oracle Fusion Cloud, please provide:
- Username
- Password
- Subdomain
- Auth Type (Basic or JWT Token). If the auth will be on JWT token, please provide:
- Issuer
- Username
- Private key
- Certificate fingerprint
- Subdomain
(3) Qooper Team Will Complete the Integration
The Qooper team will:
- Establish and test the Oracle connection
- Map Oracle fields to Qooper (ID, Email, Job, Department, Manager, etc.)
- Perform data validation and test syncs
- Activate your scheduled automation (Daily/Weekly)
Done 🎉
Your Oracle connection is successfully established. The Qooper team is now working on the integration to ensure all data is fully synced and ready for mentoring, learning, and development programs.
All configuration is handled by Qooper to provide a fully integrated, low-effort experience.
