How to connect BambooHR with Qooper?

Connecting BambooHR to Qooper is as easy as 1-2-3: Once your API token is created and shared, your employee data begins syncing automatically. With accurate BambooHR data flowing into Qooper, you’re ready to launch mentoring, learning, and development programs with the right people at the right time.

To start taking advantage of these benefits, the first step is to generate an API token in BambooHR.


(1) Create an API Token in BambooHR 👤

Before connecting to Qooper, you need to create an API token.

Using an API token ensures:

  • No passwords are shared
  • Access can be revoked at any time
  • Integration access is controlled and auditable

(1a) Generate Your BambooHR API Token

  1. Sign in to BambooHR.
  2. Navigate to Profile > API Keys.
  3. Click Add New Key.
  4. Enter a descriptive name (e.g., qooper_integration).
  5. Copy and store the generated API key securely.

Important: This API key is shown only once and cannot be retrieved again after this step.


(1b) Assign Permissions

Ensure the API token has read access to employee data.

Qooper requires access to:

  • Employee records
  • Employment information
  • Job and organizational fields

For bi-directional sync (Qooper → BambooHR), write access may also be required.


(2) Connect with Your Credentials 🔑

After creating your API token, provide the following BambooHR details to Qooper via email:

  • API Token
  • Subdomain (your BambooHR base URL, e.g. company.bamboohr.com)


(3) Qooper Team Will Complete the Integration

The Qooper team will:

  • Establish and test the BambooHR connection.
  • Map BambooHR fields to Qooper (ID, Email, Job, Department, Manager, etc.).
  • Perform data validation and test syncs.
  • Activate your scheduled automation (Daily/Weekly).

Your BambooHR connection is successfully established. The Qooper team is now working on the integration to ensure all data is fully synced and ready for mentoring, learning, and development programs.
